At Cerritos Auto Square, our success throughout southern California in selling new and used cars allows us to designate much needed resources to our local Los Angeles and neighboring community organizations. Below are a few samples of our giving back.

At Cerritos Ford and Cerritos Lincoln Mercury, we challenged our employees to give generously with a $1 - $5 paycheck deduction, promising to match whatever they gave. They formed a Charitable Board and created a list of charities that make invaluable contributions to the quality of life in Southern California, with a particular emphasis on our children and their future wellbeing.

For example, the CHOC Foundation brings advanced medical procedures to kids in need, as does Sebastian's Baby Cancer Foundation. Other child-centered charities include Children of the Night, Special Olympics, Su Casa Family Crisis Support Center, L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We were also deeply moved by the recent hurricane damage in and around New Orleans and contributed to Katrina Relief through the auspices of the American Red Cross in Long Beach.

Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Cerritos employees make generous bi-monthly donations with a $1-$5 paycheck deduction. The dealership matches another 50% of what they donate.  A Charitable Board was formed among employees and a list of charities created, with others added through a nomination process. Our charitable selections are a cross-section of causes comprising the distinctive Southern California spirit that makes our lifestyle so vibrant and vital.
To foster a strong future for our children, we support Southern California Boys and Girls Clubs, the CHOC Foundation, Pediatric Aids, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Children of the Night, Amigos de Los Ninos, Special Olympics, Su Casa Family Crisis And Support Center, Community Family Guidance Centers, LA Dept. of Children and Operation Jump Start, a So Cal organization that helps disadvantaged kids stay in school.

We also support Habitat for Humanity’s extraordinary humanitarian efforts, as well as many disease prevention and treatment organizations including the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Foundation for Aids, United Cerebral Palsy, Arthritis and Leukemia research groups, and the Parkinson Alliance.

Rounding out our support picture is Goodwill Industries, Salvation Army, American Legion, Rancho Adult Day Care, VFW Gift Baskets, Special Olympics, and Pathways Rehabilitation Clinic.

From donations to pledge drives and everything in between, Cerritos Nissan has always been — and always will be — willing to lend a helping hand towards the betterment of the community and those who reside in it. For example, the dealership is currently participating in the Relay For Life program. Partnered with the American Cancer Society and the City of Cerritos, employees from the dealership are raising money — $5,994 so far — and are taking part in a 24-hour Walk-A-Thon with their own “Z Team For Life”. Additionally, the dealership works with College Bound — a foundation which assists and directs underprivileged youth towards creating goals for college, through mentoring and scholarship opportunities; each year the dealership provides a vehicle for the organization’s annual fundraiser-walk through the City of Cerritos. Cerritos also participates in annual blood drives providing contributions beyond that of monetary value — the gift of life — to its surrounding communities.

The charitable efforts of Cerritos Nissan are also very much noticeable outside the City of Cerritos. Recently, Cerritos Nissan employees participated in Nissan North America’s annual MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) 5k walk at the Queen Mary in Long Beach. In 2001, the dealership held a fundraiser for families of U.S. Military troops serving overseas. 21 Nissan Frontiers and 2 30-foot trucks were loaded and filled with everything from food to family goods and even baby supplies; and were then caravanned south to Camp Pendleton for distribution. After wildfires spread throughout Riverside, San Bernardino and Los Angeles counties, Cerritos Nissan held a Food and Goods Drive to help support victims. Cerritos Nissan also contributes annually to the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program and provides needy children the opportunity to experience the joyous wonders of the holiday season. Additionally, a recent donation of a 2006 Nissan 350Z to the City of Hope was auctioned off, with the proceeds used to benefit breast cancer research.

Also, the dealership works closely with Ryan’s Reach, a supporting organization which seeks to aid brain-injured individuals and their families through providing additional financial resources and promotional support. And to supplement those efforts, a yearly contribution is given to High Hopes Neurological Recovery Group, a public charity based in Orange County.

On a much grander scale, Cerritos Nissan’s contributions were welcomed after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast region in 2005. On top of donating an initial $10,000 towards relief efforts, employees of the dealership raised an additional $2,500 during a safety awards luncheon, in which they opted to donate funds directly from their payroll.

If this is your first time being informed about these aforementioned acts of kindness, don’t be surprised; rarely will you hear about this on radio, see it on TV or read about it in the newspaper. It is not done for need of self-promotion, but rather, out of the goodness of people’s hearts and their appreciation for being members of the community — and Cerritos Nissan deeply cares about their community, from Los Angeles to Orange County, San Bernardino to Riverside. So, the next time there’s a fund raiser or pledge drive, you may not hear or see the name “Cerritos Nissan”, but there’s a good chance that they’re a big part of it.
